Identifying the components of cognitive information analysis in financial decision-making (Case study: University of Tehran academic entrepreneurs)

Abstract
Background and Objective: The cognitive approach in entrepreneurship research is younger than other approaches. This approach attempts to study the behavior of entrepreneurs using cognitive psychology methods. Therefore, the aim of the research was to identify the components of cognitive information analysis in the financial decision-making of academic entrepreneurs.
Methods: The qualitative research method is of the content analysis type and is applied in terms of purpose and exploratory in terms of nature. The statistical population of the research is all academic entrepreneurs of the University of Tehran. To select the sample in this research, snowball sampling method was used. Therefore, in this research, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 16 academic entrepreneurs who were based in the Science and Technology Park of the University of Tehran. Findings: The results showed that "financial information processing", "being aware of the financial process", and "estimating and predicting financial mechanisms" were identified as subcomponents of cognitive information analysis. Conclusions: Based on the findings, it can be concluded that information analysis in financial decision-making by academic entrepreneurs will result in their success or failure.
