Cognitive warfare, aimed at targeting the human mind and perception, exposes military commanders to unprecedented decision-making challenges, thereby significantly compromising their capacity for timely and accurate operational responses. In this context, bolstering cognitive resilience against such threats has emerged as an unavoidable and critical necessity. Consequently, this research employs a systematic review and qualitative content analysis to explore the efficacy of AI-based Decision Support Systems (AI-DSS) in enhancing this resilience. The results demonstrate that AI-DSS can drastically improve commanders' situational awareness through the delivery of precise, real-time, and personalized intelligence, alongside the detection and neutralization of misleading information. Moreover, by simulating complex cognitive warfare scenarios and leveraging big data analytics for threat prediction, these tools reinforce independent decision-making and accelerate reaction times. Nevertheless, the deployment of these technologies necessitates the careful management of critical challenges—including training data quality, cybersecurity protocols, and ethical considerations—to ultimately mitigate the risk of over-reliance on the system.
